Abstract 


This research is on the assessment of Polio Eradication Campaign Strategies in Zaria. It is obvious that poliovirus was once a major challenge of Nigeria. The help of House to house meeting played a significant role in the eradication of poliovirus in Sabon-Gari Local Government, Zaria. The research used survey method and convenience non probability sample techniques to actualize the research, with objectives which includes; To determine the Communication strategies used in Poliovirus eradication among parents and guardians in Zaria Metropolis, to determine the effectiveness of the communication campaign strategies used in eradicating poliovirus among parents and guardians in Zaria Metropolis, to determine the communication strategies that has impact on parents and guardians in the acceptance of polio vaccine. The study revealed that 68% of the respondents agreed that House to house communication strategies was used in Zaria Metropolis the study also revealed that 28% of the respondents agreed that Kaduna State government can make Zaria Metropolis a Free polio virus by allocating more funds to health. Health Believe Model Theory (HBM) was employed to form the theoretical framework. The research recommended that Heavy usage of media should be encourages so as to keep disseminating needed information about polio immunization. Federal Government should allocate enough budgets to Nigeria health sector in other to be able to purchase needed materials such as vaccine and polio kits and that influential and prominent members of Nigerian society should work with Federal Government in eradication of poliovirus through usage of aforementioned strategies.
